Faile

Brooklyn street artist Faile's new work is absolutely unbelievable. He is starting to move away from his prints - which are stunning, we have two in our office, lucky us - and into more three dimensional work which even includes the sculpture of a temple.

Faile has move away from his print work and applies himself to woodcuts, his style effortlessly switching from one to the other. Faile's influences are clear, there is a high level of cartoon and comic book style both western and eastern, mixed with levels of contemporary pop culture and of course girls.

Faile also has an obvious background in graphic design utilising type and grid work to give his prints and woodblocks unity and punch. And it's the high level and mixture of typography which has really drawn me in to these pieces. Each one features a huge number of hand drawn type styles, each one some how falls into place sitting comfortably next to each other. Although Hectic and busy the woodblocks keep a clean and strong geometric structure holding these pieces together; your eye always finding something new to look at.

If anyone is a couple of grand flush and is feeling especially charitable, buy me one, please.
