The Perpetual Storytelling Apparatus is a machine created by Julius Von Bismarck and Benjamin Maus. That continually draws a never ending story through illustrating American patents.
The machine translates words from a story into patent technical drawings, and through the references in the 'prior art' section links patent to patent and draws the illustrations from each one, creating a continuous drawing. Through the random selection of images a narrative can be created and followed through visual depictions of technological developments.
